Started in 1994 by Bill McNally, Terry Currier and David Cobb, they filled a void—so many good labels and artists needed to get their music to the masses. Growing from 2 employees to 15 with as many sales reps, they’ve sold to independent stores, chains & one stops and work with several export partners around the world.

Burnside is located in Portland, Oregon. They found talent as close as next door and as far away as Australia. Currently they have over 700 labels and over 3,000 titles including artists Polica, Hayes Carll, Tommy Emmanuel, Blind Pilot, Low Roar, Alela Diane, The Verve Pipe, The Dead Tongues, Dead Moon, Local H, The Delines, Suzanne Santo, Caspar Babypants, Alma Deutscher, Ryan Montbleau, the Nick Moss Band, Too Slim & The Taildraggers, Frank Black, Q Lazzarus, Poison Idea, The Wipers, Swamp Dogg, Foghorn Stringband, Ottmar Liebert, Taj Mahal, Mike Marshall, Norman Blake, Kevin Burke, Sera Cahoone, Josh Lovelace and many more. Burnside distributed artists are Grammy, Handy(blues) and Latin Grammy winners and nominees. Burnside was also nominated for the Music Business Association’s (previously NARM) Small Distributor of the Year Award several times.
